Opportunities for Women

Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study

Have you ever prayed for Peace? Well, Peace is a person. Life moves at a break-neck speed. Worry and fear are constant companions. Jesus offers us a different kind of life. He offers peace. He is peace. This 7-week study on the gospel of John will encourage us to slow down and linger with the Living Word. The peace Jesus offers is not an ease of circumstances but a stillness of the soul. As a result, you’ll grow in intimacy with Him and learn to rest in His peace.

Friendship Circle

The Friendship Circle focuses on serving youth and women in Johnson and Marion Counties while volunteering for events at Mount Auburn in support of the Children and Youth Ministry.  In 2023 we supported collection of school supplies for the United Way of Johnson County Fast Track Program, donated 150+ pairs of socks to Salvation Army of Marion County’s Back to School program, donated hygiene products to Perry Meridian High School Key Club in support of a Marion County domestic violence shelter, made ‘no-sew’ fleece winter scarves for those in need in Johnson County, and prepared and served meals for Mount Auburn Youth Group and Youth Alpha Study Group. Please join us if you have a heart for service in these areas and help our group branch out and share God’s love while serving.  All generations are welcomed. To join us or learn more, contact Donna Silvertooth at [email protected].

Shalom Circle

The Women’s Shalom Circle looks for ways to serve our church, community, and world. Some examples of ways we have done this are … serving at the Mount Auburn Church Vacation Bible School, distributing hygiene bags to the homeless via Park Fletcher Mission, collecting hats and gloves during the winter for the homeless, collecting vases to create beautiful flower arrangements for the elderly in nursery homes, donating to Samaritan’s Purse, writing letters to the veterans going on the Honor Flight to thank them for their service and more! We look for ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We put love into action and have fun doing it! We meet every second Monday of the month at 2 pm in the Youth Room of Mount Auburn Church (enter Door 7). To join us or learn more, contact Marion Jones at [email protected]. What We’re Doing Now: Collecting Toiletries for Fletcher Place We’re collecting travel-sized toiletries to donate to Fletcher Place. Fletcher Place is an organization located on the south side of Indianapolis and provides inexpensive housing opportunities, food, education, and a sense of community to those who need it most. As a supplemental effort, we’re creating hygiene bags to alleviate stressors regarding hygiene for the homeless. Please consider donating the following: NOTE: Your donations MUST be travel-sized. Please place your donations in the designated bin located in the north hallway of Trinity Hall. Click the button below to learn more about Fletcher Place.

Card Ministry

The card ministry makes cards for several occasions- birthdays, get well, thinking of you, welcome cards for visitors, sympathy, graduation, Christmas, and more. This ministry is often used by God to comfort those going through difficult times and celebrate those going through cheerful times. The card ministry meets the third Monday of each month from 11 am to 2 pm in Room 205 at the church. We create packets that include the supplies needed to make the cards. This is done at our homes and then we come together once a month and assemble the packets. We welcome ladies to join us in prepping card making packets or in creating the cards. Creating card making packets requires some paper crafting knowledge or someone willing to be trained. All are welcome! If you would like to learn more or sign up to volunteer, contact Melissa Hoffmann at [email protected] or 317-402-5075.

Loving Stitches

Loving Stitches is a Ministry that creates prayer shawls and prayer cloths using prayer as we knit or crochet.  They are fashioned for all ages to bring peace, comfort, hope or joy to the recipient.  When completed we say a prayer of blessing, as a group, before they are stored and made ready for delivery.  The shawls and cloths have found homes locally and all over the world. Times and Contact Information: We meet on Zoom the Second and Fourth Monday evenings at 7pm To get Zoom link contact Rose Gotthardt at 317-886-7299 or Ruth Musgrave at 317-847-2690! Music & Worship

God has, since the beginning of creation, invited His people to participate in covenant relationship with Him (Genesis 17:7). When we come together at God’s invitation to listen to Him and respond to Him in holy conversation, we call it worship. Below are some of the ways to participate in our worship ministries. We invite you to carefully and prayerfully consider how much you might participate in the worship of Mount Auburn! 9:00am Traditional Worship | Music Ministry Opportunities CHANCEL CHOIR The Chancel Choir is open to adult and youth men and women. The Chancel Choirs sings on Sundays from September through May at the 9:00am Traditional Worship service. This choir provides a valuable service to our worship as it sets the tone for congregational singing, supports the worship emphasis of the day with the presentation of anthems in a variety of musical styles, and generally enhances the worship experience with a fragrant offering of music to God. Choir Rehearsal: Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:30pm, Choir Room (Room 121). Child care is available upon request. HANDBELL CHOIR The Handbell Choir is a vehicle for using our bodies and our love of music to ring praises and prayers to God. This intermediate-level choir is open to adults, youth, and older children who have, or are willing to develop, the ability to ring capable and cooperatively on this beautiful instrument of handbells. The Handbell Choir rings on a regular basis during the church year. Solo and ensemble offerings are past of ministry. Choir Rehearsal: Wednesday evenings, 6:00-7:00pm, The Courts (main sanctuary). ORCHESTRA The Mount Auburn Orchestra is a church orchestra. If you have an instrument you want to play, there is a place for you to play it. The orchestra, open to youth and adults, plays in worship once a month and rehearses as needed to prepare for those times. Instrumentalists are asked to support the choir ministry on occasion, and soloists and ensembles are always welcome in our worship. Currently, our instrumentalists participate in the cantata orchestra for the annual Christmas Cantata. WORSHIP ARTS Worship Arts encompasses music, worship design, visual arts across numerous disciplines, worship environment, Scripture presentation, and other elements that enrich our worship by inviting persons to encounter God through all the senses God has given to us. Adults, youth, and children are invited to offer their gifts and interest in the arts (broadly or specifically) to the enrichment of the congregation’s worship and faith journey. 10:30am Contemporary Worship | Music Ministry Opportunities PRAISE BAND Our Contemporary Worship, led by our Praise Team, includes a wide variety of Christian contemporary praise and worship songs, many of which are         currently used in the Contemporary Christian Music genre. This service is more casual than our traditional service.
