Alpha Youth: Next Gen

🌟 Discover the Journey Together at Alpha Youth! 🌟

Thanks to those of you who have tried out our Alpha Youth: Next Gen or have considered it.  It was scheduled to continue this Wednesday through June 5th.

Alpha is most effective with a minimum of 5 participants, and due to several factors, we’ve had trouble establishing that core group of participants this time.  Therefore, we intend to postpone this Alpha course and offer it again later this year or early next year.  In its place, we are going to offer a Student Leadership Academy for the 5 Wednesdays in May, from 5:45pm to 7:15pm.

Whether you have participated in Alpha or not recently, you are invited!  In other words, if you are a 5th grade through 12th grade student (Parents or Grandparents, you may still join if you’d like), and you are willing to commit to joining us on Wednesdays in May, you’re invited to grow as student leaders with us. Together, our student leaders will play important roles in Mount Auburn Youth, our high school mission trip, future Alpha courses, and beyond.  Come grow with us!

Though subject to change, here is the plan.

April 24th            Come join us from 5:45pm to around 7:45pm for a special church meal at which you can meet missions’ partners and hear three brief presentations about people serving other people in Jesus’ name, right here in connection with Mount Auburn.  Hope to see you tomorrow evening, Door 6!

May 1st                Build a Fire (without getting burned!).  Students will learn how to build a fire, and we will also discuss the importance of preparation, humility, fears, and hurts relative to leadership.

May 8th                Balance a Budget.  Students will learn how to balance a budget and discuss common sense, honor, and sacrifice.

May 15th             Escape Room (off-campus).  Students will enjoy an escape-room experience and will discuss teamwork, unity, and winning communication.

May 22nd             Change a Tire (and keep rolling!). Students will learn how to change a tire and will discuss changing plans, flexibility, and servant leadership.

May 29th             Face-to-Face Conversation.  Students will practice jousting and will discuss grace, the spiritual versus the practical, conflict resolution, saying “no”, and more.
